"Plein air painting is challenging. As artists, we deal with the wind, the light, the heat, the bugs...it's endless. It is a small price to pay for the joy of experiencing the natural world. Painting, 'en plein air', has given me a wonderful appreciation of how much life there is going on all around us, out of our control, without our involvement, whether we like it or not. My paintings are about abundance, about life, and about movement. While the world's populations are dealing with their own political, financial, and personal realities, nature just keeps on trekking. I find that reassuring."
